Speech Pathology Services

Speech and language pathologists provide evaluation and therapy services for individuals with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing impairments from birth to geriatrics. The experienced, certified, and licensed speech/language pathologists are committed to the prevention, rehabilitation and education of patients and their families.

Services Include:

  • Language delays
  • Articulation remediation
  • Oral-motor/feeding dysfunction
  • Alaryngeal speech rehabilitation
  • Organic and functional voice disorders
  • Dysfluency (stuttering)
  • Neurological-based disorders resulting in need for cognitive retraining, aphasia therapy and/or swallowing intervention
  • Motor speech disorders (dysarthria, apraxia of speech)
  • Dysphagia (swallowing) rehabilitation
  • Videofluoroscopic swallow studies in conjunction with the radiology department
  • Establishing augmentative/alternative communication systems
  • Support groups (i.e. Stroke and New Voice clubs)

Special to Pediatrics Patients:

  • Facilitation of language articulation, cognitive and voice skills
  • Enhancing oral-motor/swallowing skills
  • Establishing augmentative/alternative communication systems

A physician's referral for initiation of services is required.
