Sports Medicine - Pediatric

Rooting for your child and his or her team — no matter the sport — is one of the true joys of parenthood. While sports injuries can often be prevented, they can and do happen. The Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine Program at the Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital of Loyola provides evaluation and treatment for children with sports-related injuries or medical problems, including:

  • Ankle sprains
  • Jumper’s knee
  • “Little League elbow”
  • Osgood-Schlatter disease
  • Swimmer’s shoulder

Our team includes a an orthopaedic surgeon, specially trained in pediatric sports medicine and a pediatrician certified in sports medicine. If rehabilitation is needed, your child will also see one of our physical therapists or athletic trainers who specializes in the care of injured athletes.
