Frequently Asked Questions

Below you'll find detailed answers to your most commonly asked questions about our children's services.

How can I prepare my child for a stay in the hospital?

When your child is sick or injured and facing hospitalization, it’s best to talk openly with them about their fears and concerns. Assure them that you’ll be there every step of the way. We also provide a pre-operative tour for all families who require an extended stay. To schedule a tour, call (877) 216-KIDS. For more information on how to prepare and what to expect, visit Preparing for a Hospital Stay.

Where will I stay while my child is in the hospital?
If your child requires an extended stay, or if you have a sick infant in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, we recommend you stay at The Ronald McDonald House Near Loyola. In these comfortable and private accommodations, you’ll be near your child and will be able to visit him or her whenever you need to, night or day.
