Brain, nervous system, and head and neck cancers only represent about three percent of cancer cases in the general population. However, the number of new cancer cases treated by Loyola's neuro-oncology team has increased 17 percent in recent years. 

Radiation Oncology, in coordination with Neurological Surgery, has implemented a new computer-assisted radiation delivery system, utilizing stereotactic radiotherapy in 3-D treatment planning.
