CAN-HELP Cancer Information Service
Our Loyola CAN-HELP Cancer Information Service is staffed by experienced oncology nurses who provide the following:
- Information to callers about cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. CAN-HELP also provides information on clinical trials and new treatments available at the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center.
- Assistance to callers, both patients and referring physicians, who want to make an initial appointment for themselves or a patient with a physician in the CBCC. CAN-HELP helps patients coordinate what they need to bring for their initial appointment and can refer patients to financial services for help before their appointment.
- Information about education programs and support groups for cancer patients and their families both at Loyola and in the community.
The phone number for Loyola's CAN-HELP Cancer Information Services is (708) CAN-HELP (708 -226-4357). CAN-HELP's hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. An after-hours message center will take your information and assure that your call is returned the next business day.
